Diploma in Elementary Education — 2-Year Program
The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is a 2-year full-time diploma program approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is the minimum qualification required for teaching at the elementary level (Classes 1–8) in government schools across India, as mandated by the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
At Sri Shravan Kumar College, the D.El.Ed program is structured across 4 semesters. The curriculum integrates child development theories, subject-specific teaching methodologies, school practicum visits, community engagement activities, and a full-term teaching internship in affiliated elementary schools.
D.El.Ed graduates from our college go on to teach in Bihar's government elementary schools after qualifying in CTET (Paper-I), BTET (Paper-I), and state-level primary teacher recruitment processes. Many also serve in private primary schools and community education programs.
